Close Friends Only

Alert the presses! After much pontification over the inherent paradox of creating art within a capitalist paradigm, I’ve decided to curb my general 21st-century hysteria and start a substack newsletter like every other basic writer trying to “make it” (whatever that means). It turns out cataloging your thoughts and digitally packaging them into bite-sized content for the masses to consume is a great way for people to get to know you as a writer and product. Cynicism aside, the revival of long-form blogging actually gives me great joy (and dare I say, hope?). In any case, there are certainly worse things in the world than cosplaying as Carrie Bradshaw.

Here I will turn my questionable habit of intellectualizing and making meaning of life and art where unnecessary into a certified body of work. Twenty-something girl working in media/marketing/entertainment meets meta-commentary, feminism, and cultural criticism — how provocative!

Note: This blog is for my close friends, and close friends ONLY. You may qualify if you are one or more of the following…

  • one of the few wretched individuals who has taken on the selfless act of supporting my artistic journey (and humanhood)

  • a stranger browsing my profile on the interwebs

  • residing in the city I currently live in

  • residing in the city I figuratively live in

  • my ex-roommate’s dog

  • a person who chooses to read my writing
